Personal History / Information

Born and raised in Kansas, Chelsi grew up with a love for healthy living and sharing that passion with others. Her affection for nutrition and exercise led her to Kansas State University where she obtained two degrees and a collection of work experience in nutrition, health and fitness. An internship in Nome, Alaska grew her love for working with under-represented populations. After graduation, Chelsi worked in assisted living in Menomonie, Wisconsin. It was there that her hopes to educate in chronic disease prevention developed. Once returning home to Kansas, she was introduced to K-State Research and Extension. Dickinson County in Abilene, Kansas is where she began her extension career as the Family and Consumer Sciences Agent for 5 years. Leavenworth County has been a joy for Chelsi and her family to call home. Her two young daughters are eager to become active 4-Hers. Chelsi is honored to serve the local K-State Research and Extension Office.
